Internet Explorer drops below 50% market shar...

Interesting browser market share stats at Ars Technica.  Combined market share for IE is below 50%, Safari dominates mobile browsing.  Personally, I have switched to Chrome from Firefox and don’t see any reason to switch back.  I haven’t used IE in years other than to view pages that require it. Definitely a site worth visiting to see some stunning photography.   It is interesting to note that Jaime has Synesthesia (he ‘hears’ colours). The site is not entirely safe for work, just a warning. Jaime Ibarra Photography

Enable Google Plus for Google Apps

Finally!  Google Apps users (such as myself) can access Google+ with their Apps account.  Until now, you had to sign in with a gmail account.  This seems to be common for Google, most of their applications are not available to Apps users to start which is always a pain. Learn how to enable Google+ on your Google Apps account   If you are not familiar with Google Apps read more here.  Essentially it lets you run your own mail server using the Google infrastructure and Gmail interface.  Free for personal use. UPDATE: It looks like you can’t add your Google Apps account if you have already created a G+ account with gmail.  So it...

RIM confirms PlayBook OS 2.0 delayed until Fe...

Not good news for fans of RIM. The PlayBook isn’t selling well as it is, and delays to the new OS isn’t going to help things. Native email will have to wait, and too bad if you were hoping for Blackberry Messenger (BBM). Apple released iOS 5, which includes iMessage and a bunch of other new features. Not looking good for ol’ RIM. Engadget Link

iPhone 4S vs Canon P&S vs Nikon D90

An image shootout between the iPhone 4S, a digital point and shoot (Canon SD870 IS), and a digital SLR (Nikon D90). I have tried to match focal length as best I can.  On the Canon I zoomed in slightly to try and get the same field of view.  On the Nikon I used a 14-24 lens at 24mm. iPhone Camera Sensor: 8 megapixel CMOS sensor (1/3.2″) Focal length: 4.28mm Aperture: f/2.4 Image dimensions: 3264 x 2448 Focal length multiplier: 7.61 35mm equivalent: 32.6mm Canon SD870 IS Sensor: 8 megapixel CCD sensor (1/2.5″) Focal length: 4.6-17.3mm Aperture: f/2.8-5.8 Image dimensions: 3264 x 2448 Focal length multiplier: 6.02 35mm equivalent:...

TouchFire: The Screen-Top Keyboard for iPad

This looks like a very promising product. A thin rubber overlay for your iPad that provides tactile feedback as you type. Held on by magnets, and works with both iPad 1 and 2. I always thought carrying around a separate keyboard somewhat defeats the portability of the iPad. I have tried the clamcase in the past, but stopped using it as it makes the iPad too bulky. If anyone types a lot on their iPad, they should check into this product. It’s a Kickstarter product, so not yet available, but I have no doubt it will come to market.
